Bucket elevators are used for bulk material conveying in vertical direction. A chain and sprocket system moves the buckets laden with bulk material upwards and discharges the material through a chute, hopper or other mechanism after reaching top. The system is covered by an enclosure fabricated from mild steel sheets and driven by an electric motor through a belt pulley arrangement. Inlet is normally at the bottom and material may be fed in a controlled manner or in flooded mode. It can handle materials with a wide range of flow-ability and used in industries like Mineral processing, food, chemicals etc.
