Hydraulic injection moulding machines are among the most commonly employed machinery in the plastics industry. They are key to the production of an extremely broad spectrum of plastic products, ranging from common household goods to specialized industrial parts. They are widely in demand due to their tried and tested reliability, capacity to work with complex moulds, and capability of producing high clamping forces. The operation of a hydraulic injection moulding machine is achieved through the application of hydraulic power to regulate the primary operations of the machine. Hydraulic pumps squeeze oil, which is routed to cylinders that power the primary motions of the machine, including mould closing, injection of melted plastic, and ejection of completed parts. When the mould closes, the hydraulic system exerts a firm clamping force on it to keep it securely closed. Plastic pellets are melted in a barrel and plasticized and then a hydraulic piston forces the molten plastic into the mould cavity. After cooling, the mould opens and the part is pushed out.
